URBAN ECOLOGY talk with Peter Dixon
KEEPING THE CITY LIVEABLE for all
Urban Ecologist : Peter Dixon
Urbanisation has resulted in a significant decline in environmental values, pollution of waterways and local species loss.
Urban designs past and present have not understood ecosystems and the impact they can have.
There are many opportunities to retrofit urban areas to retain or reinstate both biodiversity and geodiversity.
This talk will explore some of these opportunities.
Followed by discussion, networking and supper.
Tuesday September 17th, 7:30pm, Grevillea Room
2 Lane Street Wentworthville, (next to the library)
Transition Towns has a strong theme of re-localising and looking after Place. Recognising that contact with nature is good for our health and the sustainability of the city.
The planet is big enough to share, we just need to be deliberate about it.
