Community Gardens – cooking workshop connect

John Irving Park community garden visit

The garden connect project kicked off with a warm welcome and a super delicious cooking workshop at John Irving Park Communty Garden.

Talk about fresh: salad greens straight from the garden and into a salad and stir fry. Ling led the workshop assisted by garden members. Four vegetarian dishes were created, vegetable curry, green paw paw salad, garden salad and stir fry. The green paw paw salad was a first for a few people.

A couple a Edible Garden members came along as well to enjoy the lovely atmosphere at John Irving. They are looking to return the favour on the 29th September Garden Connect workshop in North Parramatta.

These workshops aim to promote networking amongst local community gardens and make a start to reach out to the local business community though delicious and nutritious meat free cooking workshops.
